With the giant leaps which medical science has taken in the last 75 years, the life expectancy has gone up and the death rate gone down. But the corresponding control over birth rates has not been there. At major international forums, such as the United Nations, this and related problems like food production are discussed extensively, and schemes formulated, so that a suitable balance between population and economic growth is maintained.
